Thrustmaster T300 vs Logitech G29: belt or gears

It is the classic step up from an entry wheel. The T300 RS GT moves the rim with a dual belt and a brushless motor, and its rim can be swapped; the G29 uses gears and keeps the rim it comes with. For feel and room to grow, the T300. To spend as little as possible, or if you will never change rims, the G29.

Belt against gears

The G29's gears pass force through teeth, and you feel that as a notchy touch in small corrections. The T300's dual belt smooths that movement, and Thrustmaster also claims a brushless motor that stays very quiet and stable over long sessions. One thing to know: Logitech publishes 2.3 Nm and Thrustmaster gives no torque figure for the T300, so this cannot be decided by number.

The rim and the rotation

The T300 belongs to Thrustmaster's quick-swap rim family, so later on you can fit another one, including a formula rim. It turns 1,080 degrees against the G29's 900. In return, the G29 has + and − buttons, a 24-position dial and RPM lights on the rim itself.

Before buying it for PS5

Both work on PlayStation and PC, and neither on Xbox. But the T300 is not a new wheel, and Thrustmaster keeps its own list of compatible PS5 games. Check there for the game you are going to play before you pay. It is the check that saves the most money on this page, and it rarely shows on a shop listing.
