Thrustmaster T248 vs Logitech G923: more torque or TrueForce

They compete for the same buyer: wants three pedals, does not want to move to direct drive and plays on console. The T248R publishes more force, 3.1 Nm against 2.3, and has a screen on the rim. The G923 offers TrueForce and a progressive brake, and its strength is that the same model exists for PlayStation and Xbox. For racing we would pick the T248R; if your games support TrueForce and it appeals to you, the G923.

Which T248 we are comparing

The table uses the T248R, the PlayStation and PC one, because it is the one that publishes its torque. The Xbox T248 is a different product: it is also hybrid with three pedals, but Thrustmaster does not give its force figure, so that 3.1 cannot be attributed to it. When buying, read the name carefully.

The motor and the feel

The G923 uses gears alone and the T248R mixes belt and gears in what Thrustmaster calls Hybrid Drive, with three levels of force boost. TrueForce is a different thing: it adds no force, it adds fine vibrations from game data, and only in titles that support it. Check whether yours are on the list before paying for it.

Screen, buttons and pedals

The T248R rim has a colour LCD screen with 20 views, from which you change the force mid-game, four LEDs and 25 buttons. The G923 has RPM lights. On pedals, both give you three: Thrustmaster's T3PM measure with contactless Hall sensors and the brake has four firmness levels; Logitech's stiffens at the end of its travel thanks to its progressive spring.
