How each game works

Every game has a new puzzle at midnight UTC and it is the same for everyone, so you can compare results with anyone. No account and no download.

Four Garages

Sixteen surnames and four groups of four that share something: a team, a team-mate, a country, a circuit where they won. Pick four and try; four mistakes and it is over. Groups go from easiest (red) to hardest (purple), and every board has one driver who fits in two places.

GrillHeat

A honeycomb of thirty cells, each with a condition: "won at Monaco", "drove for Williams", more than a hundred races. You name a driver for a cell, and if he also fits free neighbouring cells you take them in the same move and they score as a combo. Every miss costs a point.

The Ten

A list of ten taken from the real results, such as the drivers with most poles at Monza or the most wins with Ferrari. You have five misses to complete it. If there is a tie for tenth, any of the tied drivers counts.

Who Is It? and Track Record

Two ways to guess a driver. In Who Is It? you get eight guesses and every driver you name is compared with the secret on country, last team, debut year, wins and titles. In Track Record you start with his first team and every miss reveals the next one.

Box Box and Apex Secret

Box Box is Formula 1 tic-tac-toe: three rows that are teams, three columns with another category (a country, a team-mate, having won a race) and a driver who fits both in every cell, in three minutes or with no limit. In Apex Secret there is a secret driver and every name you try gets a rank: the lower it is, the closer you are.

The data comes from the results of every World Championship Grand Prix since 1950, the same results we calibrate the simulator on the rest of the site against. The three daily challenges above are different: there you do not guess, you play with that simulator.
