Ukyo Katayama raced six seasons in Formula 1 and all of his points came in just one of them, 1994. A Japanese driver born in 1963, he made his debut in 1992 with Larrousse and the following year joined Tyrrell, the team he would stay with for four seasons.
In 1994 the Tyrrell let him show what he had. He was fifth in Brazil, the first race of the year, fifth at Imola and sixth at Silverstone, and at Hockenheim and in Hungary he started fifth on the grid, although he retired both times. He ended the championship with five points, in seventeenth place.
He never scored again. He stayed at Tyrrell in 1995 and 1996, with Mika Salo as his team-mate, and in 1997 he signed off with Minardi, the year Jarno Trulli made his debut with the same team.
Six seasons and five points, all of them from 1994.

The first number is always Katayama's. A team-mate is whoever started the same race for the same team. "In the race" only counts races both finished, because a retirement says nothing about who was quicker. "On the grid" is the starting position, with penalties already applied.
