Kimi Antonelli

Italiano · 2025–presente

No world title

Andrea Kimi Antonelli reached Formula 1 by skipping a category. Born in Bologna in 2006, he won the Italian and German Formula 4 championships in 2022 and Formula Regional Europe in 2023, and Mercedes moved him straight up to Formula 2 without passing through Formula 3. One year there was enough for him to inherit the seat Lewis Hamilton was leaving.

He made his debut in Australia in 2025, aged eighteen, and finished fourth from sixteenth on the grid. His first podium came in Canada, in third, and he closed the season with two more in Brazil and Las Vegas: seventh in the championship with 150 points, sharing the garage with George Russell.

In 2026, with the new regulations, Mercedes started the season at the front and Antonelli made the most of it from the start: his first win came in China, from pole, and the next ones were not long in coming. At Monza he won coming through from the back of the grid, and became the first Italian to win the Italian Grand Prix since 1966.

He is the youngest driver on the grid and one of those who arrived with the least single-seater experience. You would never guess it from the way he has started.

What if Antonelli had another car?

We took his real attributes and put him in the best car of each era: in a real driver's seat, against the team-mate that car actually had. 30 full seasons in each.
