Gabriel Bortoleto

Brasileño · 2025–presente

No world title

Gabriel Bortoleto reached Formula 1 with the same record as Oscar Piastri: Formula 3 champion in 2023 and Formula 2 champion in 2024, both times in his first year in the category. The Brazilian, born in São Paulo in 2004, brought Brazil back to the grid with a race seat after several years without a driver from the country.

He made his debut in 2025 with Sauber, the team that was turning into Audi, and his first race in Australia ended in retirement. Scoring did not come easily in a car that started the year at the back, but his first points arrived in Austria and in Hungary he set his best result, sixth, from seventh on the grid.

In 2026 the team was renamed Audi, with its own engine, and Bortoleto stayed on alongside Nico Hülkenberg, a team-mate with more than two hundred races of experience to measure himself against.

Two titles in a row in the junior categories put him in Formula 1. What Audi does with its car will decide how long it takes him to show the rest.

What if Bortoleto had another car?

We took his real attributes and put him in the best car of each era: in a real driver's seat, against the team-mate that car actually had. 30 full seasons in each.
