Lando Norris represents the generation of drivers raised on simulators and live streams, and he is the 2025 world champion. The Briton joined McLaren in 2019 aged just 19, during a slump for the team, and matured alongside the squad as it rebuilt itself back into a winning force.
Through his early seasons he piled up podiums and a reputation as a very fast driver who lacked the finishing touch. He shed that label in 2024 with his first win in Miami, and that same year emerged as Verstappen's most serious rival. The breakthrough came in 2025: a season-long duel decided in Abu Dhabi by just two points, one of the tightest finishes in memory.
His single-lap speed, consistency and an unusual honesty in talking about pressure and mental health have made him one of the most beloved drivers on the planet, with a huge connection to younger fans.
