Antonio Giovinazzi came into Formula 1 through the back door. An Italian born in 1993, he was a Ferrari test driver when Sauber called him in 2017 for the first two races of the year in place of Pascal Wehrlein, who was not fit. In Australia he finished twelfth; in China he crashed in qualifying and in the race, and that was the end of his first chance.

The second came in 2019, with a full-time seat at Alfa Romeo and Kimi Räikkönen on the other side of the garage. His best afternoon was Brazil: he started twelfth and finished fifth, the best result of his career. He ended the year with 14 points, but in 2020 he scored 4 and in 2021 just 3, always in a car that fought to get into the points and rarely managed it.

For 2022 the team went with Zhou Guanyu and Giovinazzi was left without a seat. In five seasons he started 62 Grands Prix and scored 21 points, without a single podium. His best day came outside Formula 1: in 2023 he won the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Ferrari.

The first number is always Giovinazzi's. A team-mate is whoever started the same race for the same team. "In the race" only counts races both finished, because a retirement says nothing about who was quicker. "On the grid" is the starting position, with penalties already applied.
